Before joining Schibsted, I was working as an analytics consultant in Accenture Digital. Previously, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Web Retrieval research group in Yahoo Labs, Barcelona, Spain. Prior to this, I spent 2 years as a postdoc at the Max Planck institute for Informatics in Saarbrücken, Germany. In 2011, I obtained my Ph.D. degree from the University of Athens in Greece. During my studies I was supported by a European Microsoft Research Ph.D. scholarship.
My expertise lies in the areas of large-scale data processing, pattern mining, distributed systems, probabilistic databases, and the Semantic Web. My research has been published in top venues including SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, and WWW conferences. I have served as a reviewer for top-tier international journals including TKDE and TPDS, and conferences including VLDB 2015, ISWC 2014 (PC membership) and VLDB 2012, KDD 2012, ICDE 2009 (external reviewer).
